Baltimore officials want warning signs about sugary drinks

In an effort to address health concerns among children, Baltimore officials introduced legislation that would require businesses to post warning signs of sugary drinks.
Councilman Nick Mosby and City Health Commissioner Dr. Leana Wen introduced the legislation Monday. It would require businesses that sell or advertise sugary drinks to post signs warning customers that they contribute to tooth decay, obesity and diabetes.
The city's health department would provide the signs to businesses and failure to display them would result in a $500 civil penalty.
