Sharps Disposal
Overview
Sharps Disposal Drop Boxes (SDDB) have been installed throughout Baltimore, offering a convenient and safe way for individuals to dispose of sharps used at home. These boxes help prevent needle-stick injuries, reduce risk, and reduce the risk of transmitting bloodborne pathogens. As part of harm reduction strategies, they also decrease the number of discarded syringes in public spaces. Overall, SDDBs promote safety, reduce stigma, and provide essential resources, contributing to a healthier community.
